I'm not at home on Friday night when the show is on, but I've been watching it online when I have time on Sunday. The show takes a celebrity and researches their family tree to find interesting ancestors they have. So far, they've featured Sara Jessica Parker, Emmitt Smith (football player), Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Broderick. The final three shows will feature Brooke Shields, Spike Lee and Susan Sarandon.
This is a great series, which I think will get many people interested in researching their ancestors. Among the stories uncovered so far are that an ancestor of Sara Jessica Parker was accused in the Salem witch trials but was fortunately acquitted. Also, Lisa Kudrow found out that her paternal grandmother's mother was among the Jews murdered by the Nazis in a small Polish town; in the course of the story she met a cousin of her father who was not massacred. The stories were very inspiring and you could see that these celebrities were profoundly affected by what they never knew before and found out.
By the way, Susan Sarandon's mother was named Criscione and I believe had Sicilian ancestors. The promo film for her story (in about 3 weeks) shows her walking in a town with Italian-looking architecture. So this is perhaps why someone brought up Termini in the discussion of the show. It would be very cool if it turns out that Susan Sarandon has TI ancestors. I found out by looking in Wikipedia that she lived in the same NJ town where I lived in the 1960s, although she's 7 years older than me.
If you don't catch the show on the air on Friday nights, you can watch it online (past and future episodes) at http://www.nbc.com/who-do-you-think-you-are/ - scroll down and look in the lower right for where to click to watch the shows that have aired so far.
