If someone has Ancestry.com they could look it up for you. Sometimes the
information is on there.

I recently got the chance to visit Ellis Island for the first time. I have
been trying to find my grandfather's ship information to no avail. I know
that he had come to the US around 1886 and the Ellis Island records are from
1892. However, I did find information for him for 1901 and 1910 - which
means he went back to Sicily a couple of times.
While at Ellis Island, they told me the check out Castlegarden.org. This is
the point where immigrants came through before Ellis Island was established.
They have a database to search for Ship Information. I haven't found my
grandfather's information yet but this might be a useful site for others.
If you type in ancestor's last name and Termini for Town of Origin, you will
get a nice list of people with that name immigrating from Termini.
I suppose many of you already knew about this site but it's new to me so
wanted to share it in case some of you hadn't heard of it either.
Happy Hunting.
