[TI] FW: Ordering Civil Records from Termini

Has anyone ordered records directly from the Stato Civile in TI? My specific questions are:
Can this be done through email?
Can the request be in English?
Is there a cost?
How long does it take?
 
My cousin is beginning the process of claiming Italian citizenship, so I am guessing the type of microfiled records we work with will not be acceptable documentation for that purpose.
 
Any insight you all may have will be appreciated.
