Henri Ange Alciatore

ALCIATORE Henri Ange Alciatore, most loving husband and devoted father, at the age of 82 left this world on Friday, February 19th at 12:05 pm, with his family at his side. As the Great-Grandson of Antoine Alciatore, Henri retired after 55 years of service as manager and Maître d' of Antoine's Restaurant, where he was affectionately known as "Mister Henri." Henri graduated from St. Aloysius High School, and Loyola University, with post-graduate studies at La Sorbonne University in Paris, France. Henri was a member of Sigma Alpha Kappa Fraternity. He served proudly in the Louisiana National Guard. He was a former parishioner of St. Leo the Great, where he was a lector, choir member and Boy Scout leader; and a current parishioner of St. Clement of Rome. He was also the longtime secretary of the Red Ball Express & Red Ball Seniors bowling leagues, and enjoyed many years of bowling with his friends. He also served on the Board of Directors of NOUSBCBA. Henri
was an avid Saints Fan, and has often been seen and photographed sporting Fleur De Lis icons on the tips of his large handlebar moustache, which he wore to every Saints game he attended. He is survived by the love of his life, Rose Alciatore, his wife of 56 years, and their seven children: Angelie Alciatore, Sandra Falcon (Bill Falcon), Debbie Alciatore, Wendy Rogers (Waldon Rogers, Jr.), Henri Alciatore Jr., Mark Alciatore (deceased), and Dr. David Alciatore (Jen Back). He is also survived by his five loving grandchildren: Melanie Rogers, Ryan Brinkman, Justin Rogers, Zachary Falcon & Austin Falcon; and survived by his sister Julie Maggio (Frank "Bubby" Maggio), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted lifetime friends. Henri was preceded in death by his father Ange "Mr. Angelo" Alciatore, mother Alma Alciatore, brother Ralph Alciatore, and sister-in-laws Antoinette Sartor and Mary Guardalabene. A celebration of his life will be held on
Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Jacob Shoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, with a Mass to follow at noon. Interment will be in St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery. We invite all employees of Antoine's Restaurant, the members of his bowling leagues and those many friends who have cherished his friendship over the years, to join us in sharing our loving memories and stories. The family suggests that any memorials in his honor be made as a Mass offering or a donation to the charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers. Please sign the online guest book at nola.com/obits.
