[TI] Ilardi alternate spellings.

I have been researching the name Ilari. The Louisville branch of my Corso family married an Ilari, so I have been chasing that line down. I have not found any of them in Termini, they are from Palermo, however I recently found out that that family came from Malta. I have found connections that match everything except for the spelling of the name (i.e. same mother and father, correct or exact birth date, but the name is spelt differently). I have seen it spelt Ilardi, Ilaro, Illari, Slori, Llari. I will keep Galardi in mind the next time I do some searching. This is why the Termini database is so great. Put in a few strategically placed *'s and you get other possibilities. I would spell Galardi as *lardi, just to see what else pops up. You could also try *lar*, but this might bring up too many. There are loads of Ilardi's in Palermo.

Tom

I have never seen the name Ilardi...perhaps the scribe just did not use good penmanship when writing the name, and, as you said, it is possibly Gelardi. Keep researching and see when Anna pops up again in the records.

Sharon, I am a GGG Grandmother Anna Ilardi and somewhere I saw it as Gelardi.  I think it should be Gelardi.  Any input on this.
