[TI] Old Photo Find!

While cleaning out an old trunk I found many great items, one of which I hope will be able to tell me a little about.  It is an extra large photo of a hotel dining room. It is the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Sherman.  It is dated 1936 in Chicago.  My dad is in the photo.  He was born in 1916, so as 20 years of age.  The top of the photo reads:

"Banchetto Colonial in celebrazione dela Vittoria Della Armi Italiano in Etiopia e della fondazione del Nuovo Impero Italiano Per Iniziativa Della Italo American National Union"

I also recognize Mary LaMantia and husband Anthony Polito.  Anthony's mother was Phyllis LaMantia, daughter of Vincenzo LaMantia and Maria Speziale. Phyllis's brothers, Joseph and Philip had the large produce on South Water Market. Later it was Arrigo Bros.
