[TI] File system

I know many of you have solved this dilemma.  I need a filing system for my 
growing collection of papers.  My dear husband bought AND assembled two, two 
drawer filing cabinets giving me 4 drawers of filing.  I would like to use 
one cabinet for my family and one cabinet for his family.  How do I label 
and file these.  I don't think simple alphabet will due or that might just 
be the librarian in me want to classify every thing!  Any suggestions?
