[TI] Termini - Naming Tradition

In my Sicilian Family the naming tradition has  always been the First son 
is named after the husbands father, the second son  after the mothers father. 
the first daughter after the Fathers mother and the  second daughter after 
the mothers mother.  Subsequent children are usually  named after a 
sibling of either parent for different reasons, such as  a sibling who may 
have died, or usually it could be after siblings according to  age.  To 
deviate from this could sometimes cause problems within the  family.  I always 
remember that one of my mother's cousins granddaughter  was not named after 
her and that poor little child was snubbed from then  on.
My parents had two sons and one daughter (me) and fortunately both of my  
grandmothers had the same name Rosaria.  I was named
Rosaria but  have been known as Rosalie all of my  life.
