Melanie,

I had looked at this database earlier today, as I discovered that first cousins of my gr grandfather had lived in the outskirts of New Orleans. I found Maria Anna Pitti Castellano listed with a death date in 1959. I believe that she had a brother, Salvatore Pitti, who also lived in the area and died there also.

have you ever ordered copies of Obits from that website, or others in the area? What tips can you give me on research in this area of the country?

Sharon Reif

btw, I did find that Maria Anna's nephew, Anthony Castellano, shot himself in Chicago after he shot and killed a woman named Frances Barsano in 1921. His parents were Joseph Castellano and Concetta Ciabetta. Anthony is buried in Mount Carmel cemetery here in the Chicago area, about 3 miles from my home.
