Hi
We were wondering if their are places in Denver that would warrant staying a few extra days to do more genealogy research.  Thanks in advance for your comments.

There seems to be a colorful history about a Columbus Day Parade sponsored by the Italians and Native Americans who are not so favorable to Columbus. Apparently they agreed that the parade could go forward as long Columbus name was not attached to it.  And an Italian restaurant that was not doing well until the owner renamed it to Patsy's. gloria.

Columbus Is Back in Denver!

Depressed by the election? Here’s evidence that things sometimes really do get better too.
The Columbus Day Parade is once again alive and well in Denver, Colorado, despite being shut down by anti-American Leftists from 1992 to 2000. Its return is a credit to the steadfast respect for freedom and American values shown by Italian-Americans in Colorado. Theirs is an untold story of dedication which, if known, every American would support.
In celebration, I decided to go to Denver this year, 2006, and support the parade.
You might wonder: what’s a Comanche Indian doing at a parade celebrating the man who brought Europe to America—and hell to the Indians?

Patsy's Inn, 3651 Navajo Street.  80 years of Colorado history in one place, from Michael Carmine Aiello's joint, Aiello's Italian Kitchen, to Chubby Aiello's name change (turning the place Irish overnight because of resentment against Italians during WWII) to it's sale in 1997 and re-sale last year to a second cousin of Chubby himself.  Patsy's calls itself "Denver's oldest Italian restaurant," but age has served Patsy's well and given the place the kind of historic long-view that's sadly lacking in so many of Denver's dining institutions.
