[TI] Family Tree Maker

I have Family Tree Maker 2008.  This is the only version that I have
ever used and I have had a few problems with it, but overall it seems to
work well.  They have just offered me a free upgrade to 2009, so I am
hoping that this will fix some of the problems with 2008.  I also work
on a PC, so I can't answer any of your MAC questions.

I know that there have been at various times conversations about the
advantages and disadvantages of the different versions of Family Tree
Maker.
I'm thinking of upgrading and can't remember what people have said so
forgive me for asking again.

I'm currently using Family Tree Maker 2005 on a PC.  First of all, does
anyone know if there is a version of this software for a Macintosh?  My
laptop is a Mac and I'd like to load it with Family Tree Maker before
the reunion.

I see that there is Family Tree Maker 2008 available - does anyone know
anything about this version?  I recall that there was one version people
were cautioning about NOT using but can't remember which one.

Any suggestions for upgrades?
