[TI] Sicilian Child Naming Tradition

Another thing I have noticed is that often if the
first son was named Giuseppe, after the paternal
grandfather, and that child died before the second son
was born, then the second son was also named Giuseppe.
I've even seen the third son named Giuseppe if the
first and second sons died before the third was born.
The tradition seems to be to keep the names alive no
matter what. This caused a big debate in our family
when they came to the U.S. and "Americanized" their
names. Was the new son to be named Giuseppe, or
Joseph? The family still talks about that issue.
