We had a lot of Salvatores in our family both on the Martino and Bova sides. The Martino side Americanized the name to George. My dad's brother was a doctor in Toledo. I never knew that he real name was Salvatore Bova until I started this geneology search of the family. My grandmother's father was Salvatore. Since my uncle was the second born son his name was Salvatore. They knew it was easier to use something like George instead of Salvatore so all the Salvatores became George. My uncle was Dr. George S. Bova.

Salvadore was before the Unification, Salvatore was after.
This is written in Sicily's history.
