Ken, I believe we are close to making a match. Richard's grandfather was
Francesco Geraci, Born 1872, and his Great Great grandfather was also
Francesco, born 1801. I know these do not match your Francesco, but it
seems they should be from the same family somewhere. The clue was Caterina
Macaluso's parents were Antonio Macaluso and Marina Indovina. I have
another of their daughters, Maria Grazia Macaluso married to Mariano Geraci,
born 1823 and married in 1870 as his 3rd wife. Mariano Geraci was the son
of Francesco Geraci born 1801.
So, the question is, Can you determine how your Francesco is related to our
Francesco Geraci?
Thanks,
Glenda Geraci
Dear Josie,
I noticed in your message below that your are possibly
related to both the Macaluso and Cipolla families? I
also have these two surnames in my tree.
My great-greatgrandmother was Caterina Macaluso
(married at the age of 14 to my g-g-grandfather,
Francesco Geraci). Caterina Macaluso was born Jan. 31,
1826 and married on Dec. 24, 1840. Her parents were
Antonio Macaluso and Marina Indovina. Her father,
Antonio Macaluso, had parents named Giuseppe Macaluso
and Benedetta Ganguzza. Do any of these names connect?
Then, I am also descended from the Cipolla family (as
are a LOT of people on this list including Mark
Johnson, Ann Riggio, Anthony in Kentucky and others).
My great-great-great grandmother was Illuminata
Cipolla who was married to Natale Navarra. Illuminata
was the daughter of Francesco Cipolla and Giuseppa
Silvestri. Does this info match with any of yours?
Understand you met recently with Ann in Pittsburgh...
isn't she great?! Wish I had been there, too!
Ken Geraci
