I have a question about ordering RI death certificates.  It appears that the state will not issue a copy of a death certificate for genealogical purposes unless you are immediate family or members of legally incorporated genealogical societies, in the conduct of their official duties. 

Has anyone ever tried to order a death certificate from RI and didn't meet the above requirements.  

I want to order two death certificates to determine the parents of the two individuals I have interest.   I believe these two people are the brothers of my gr grandmother, but without the death certificates I can't verify anything as the obits do not list their parents names.
