Yes, Gloria...things are actually going well....except that both of my in-laws are in the hospital (one had a stroke and then had a pacemaker installed, but it shorted out and he had to stay a little longer til they uncrossed the wires, and is now in an assisted living center to get therapy for lose of the use of his leg from the stroke...then she had the flu and her kidneys shut down, so she is hospitalized til that is all straightened out....They are in Kansas City so we are not close enough to keep up to the minute news.

As far as the wedding goes...I found a dress a Von Maur that does not need any alterations!!! And I actually look good in it. But I need to get a nice tan, which is not hard with the summer coming. Still going back and forth to St. Louis, next time will be at the beginning of April. Still have to finalize wedding cakes and flowers for the tables.

Yes, I am still working on my St. Louis Busalacchi book...I guess I missed my deadline of Thanksgiving. But my new deadline is Easter and I think I will make that. I wanted to keep the book to 100 pages, but I have so much information, and I am already on page 85, so I think it will be more like 120 pages or so. I just bought a bindery machine and the thick mil plastic covers and papers, so I am well on my way to finishing this first edition. I am certain that I did not realize how much information that I had, until I started on this book. So for all you procrastinators...start now... and get organized (which I thought that I was).

Meanwhile, the 50th anniversary of Oak Brook is going great...we put on 4 events so far...only about 20 more to go. And as Secretary/Treasurer of the celebration, I am proud to say that commercial and monetary support is pouring in. Why just today I opened the mail and more money came in from some very generous persons. Can't wait to attend the big food fest in the heart of Oak Brook with the July 3rd festivities. Nice to have McDonalds headquarters right here....they are very generous, along with Ace Hardware, Inland Investments, Van Kampen, and a long list of banking institutions. There are some very deep pockets here, and it appears that they are all very proud of their little piece of Oak Brook.

My Epson printer/scanner/copier is still doing quite well. I just love it, and am often asked to print the photos taken by members of the OB garden club. You'll have to come for the Gardens of Oak Brook tour in June. We have trolleys set up to tour the 5 locations which include 3 homesites, one of which belongs to Mr. Portillo, yes, of Portillo's Restaurants. What a beautiful estate he has. Getting back to the Epson...I do print on the CDs which are just for that purpose, but I also use those with printable, sticker type, applications. They look just as good, I think. That's what I am using for my Bronswood Cemetery indexing and photographing project.

Gotta go, take care, Gloria, and everyone. Look at the website for Oak Brook, Illinois to see the many functions to attend this year in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Village. It's a great place to visit,,,and I kinda like living here, too.

Sharon Reif
Oak Brook Historical Society, Secretary
