We have a many persons from Cefalu here, also an active Cefalutana Society which is quite large. Sal Serio is from Cefalu and collects information on many families besides his own from Cefalu, New Orleans and he makes trips over the US. He has a room in his house which has shelves to the ceiling with tons of information all nicely organized so he can find them (you wouldn't believe). That is not all the information that is at the Italian American library which he has access to all the time. I have put a link to the Cefalutana Society. Two of the sections, the burial and Sal's family shows some of the names from Cefalu. Sal gets a lot of information from the FHC.

What is your grandfather's name and some information. I will check with him.

Larie

Hi Joe
Yes. It was you that I was addressing. Thanks for your quick response. Is
JRC another Joe? I wonder if anyone else has found records in Cefalu. It
would be nice if I could find a database for Cefalu like Laura's TI
database. She is such a blessing.
I just don't know where to start to find my ggrandfather's birth place.

Hi Gloria,

I wasn't sure if you were addressing me or another Joe...but we did stay in
Cefalu
in 2006 for a week and my many cousins and family have now done this several
times
renting several small "apartments" in the hills overlooking Cefalu...my
cousin Tony
has made some good connections with the people that rent them and with a
travel agency in Cefalu ( English speaking ) for travel to/from airport, car
rentals, etc.

We enjoyed Cefalu very much for its friendly folks, good restaurants, nice
location for sightseeing,etc.....however I regret to say that we did not try
any geneaological work, as none of in our family have any antecedents from
Cefalu...
my guess is they would be helpful, we certainly had a good reception from
the Mayor in TI, I would imagine Cefalu would be the same especially as they
are interested in the tourist trade....
