[TI] Grave's Disease

     I have graves disease since about 1993 because due to my overactive thyroids (at that time) I also had twin inward goiters, which at the time I lost 50 pounds, was very nervous, I could not hold a cup of coffee or put sugar into it without spilling everything all over.  I cannot tell if my eyes are drooping but I had to see another eye doctor last year and the minute she walked into the room she said "You have graves disease!"  I did have bulging eyes when I had the goiters because I was so thin.
     My father and his family as much as I can remember did not have thyroid trouble.  But thyroid problems are hereditary in my mother's family, she is not Italian.  She and her twin sister both had twin inward goiters which they had to be operated on in about the 1950's.  My grandfather (their father) had an outward (large) goiter.  In 1935 the doctor's tried to operate on him but unfortunately they did not know much about diabetes (which he had) and he died.  I do not know if my grandfather had graves disease or not but my mother and my aunt have never said they had graves disease, even when they found out that I had it.  
     Makes me wonder about the graves disease on the TI side also.

     My mother's family was very large, most have thyroid trouble but none of them have graves disease.
