[TI] Taormina

I was at wake this evening for a friends grandmother. 
They are Sicilian and when I asked where they were
from, someone said Catania. I asked what city and they
said what sounded like Terminisi.  I can't find a city
with that name.  I think they may mean Taormina and
the people of Taormina are called Taorminisi???  Does
anyone know what the people of Taormina call
themselves?  I can't find anything on the internet.
