Gallico

This is the beach at Gallico Marina. I believe it was once called Gallico Inferiore. In the background is the city of Reggio Calabria.





This is a view from Gallico Superiore looking down toward Gallico Marina. In the background is Sicily. If my maps are correct, we are looking toward the city of Messina.





Statue of the "Madonna Della Grazia" patron of Gallico. She is venerated by all of Gallico. Each year there is a procession to honor the Madonna. Giovanni Galimi, brother of my grandfather, was very involved in that procession and had a special statute as "Porta Lavora sulla spalla" which seemed to be very honorific and showed that he was very respected in the village.
